Programme Curriculum

The structure of our holiday programmes and the coaching content delivered is professionally designed by the lead coach. Each day consists of the following football activities:

  • Warm-Up / General Movement Session – Tagging games and activities focused on agility, balance & coordination, developing fundamental movement patterns to prepare for more complex, sport-specific skill development
  • Skill Training Session – A skill acquisition session focusing on one of the Attacking core skills (Striking the ball, Running with the ball, Receiving the ball, or 1v1s)
  • Mini-World Cup – A tournament consisting of small-sided games (3v3, 4v4 or 5v5)
  • Free Play – Supervised free play on the playgrounds, astro or indoors to give players a chance to do some active recovery between activities

Players will be grouped by age and ability to maximise participation throughout the day.

At the end of each day, there will be certificates and prizes for player of the day!

The final day of each holiday programme will be a “Skill Challenge” day where we will run fun challenges to demonstrate the skills learnt throughout the week.

Wet Weather Process

Our programmes are delivered at Maraetai Beach School which means our programme will not be cancelled due to wet weather! If we are unable to train outside, session plans and activities are adapted to be delivered indoors.
