BMAFC is thrilled to announce that Shelley Banham will be our Women’s First team coach for the 2026 season!

Shelley’s appointment is a significant chapter for BMAFC and reflects our continued commitment to growing the number of women and girls playing football at our club, while building clear pathways for them to develop and thrive. The experience Shelley brings, from her own football journey and work career, along with her passion to see the club’s vision come to life, will help us shape the future of women’s football at BMAFC and inspire the next generation of players.

I’m super excited to be coaching the BMAFC Women’s First Team this season. With the club’s ambition to encourage more girls and women into football, I’m passionate about supporting this and creating an environment where players and teams can grow in confidence and performance. Having played football for many years, alongside a background in sport science and nutrition, I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge and supporting players both on and off the pitch. – Shelley Banham

Club President Mark McClintock is over the moon to have Shelley in the fold this season.

Since stepping into this role, a key priority has been growing the number of women and girls playing at the club, creating strong pathways and role models for our girls, and achieving our goal of having a woman coach our Women’s First Team. So, I’m thrilled to announce Shelley, who shares this passion, and I’m confident she’ll take our women’s and girls’ program to the next level. Please join me in congratulating Shelley on her appointment!
