We’re Exploring a Refereeing Academy! ⚽
We’re excited to share that our club is exploring the launch of its very first Refereeing Academy, led by our very own top-class referee, Kirk Davies. We’re now seeking expressions of interest from anyone keen to be involved.
In partnership with Northern Region Football (NRF), this potential new initiative aims to support and grow confident, skilled referees across all levels of our football community – from juniors right through to youth and senior games.
Why show interest?
Refereeing is a great way to stay involved in the game – and starting young can lead to pathways at regional, national, or even international levels. There are clear opportunities for both males and females to progress as far as they want to go. Our goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment for new referees, especially those just starting out or looking to explore a new role within the football community.
Who might this be for?
- Girls and boys aged 9 and up
- Coaches, players, parents or supporters who want to be more involved in the game
- Anyone who loves football and wants to contribute off the field – even if they’re not a player
What it could involve:
- NRF-led referee education and mentoring (yes – that’s you! 😊)
- On-field refereeing experience during club games
- Ongoing support and development within the club
- The chance to grow confidence, leadership skills, and football knowledge
