The Girls Skills Programme provides an aligned, co-ordinated approach dedicated to our female footballers, aged 8-12 years, wishing to access another high quality, enjoyable football experience that enhances skill development.

Skills Centre sessions are delivered by coaches with the NZF Junior Level 2 Coaching Award.

Programme Objectives

Support player development for footballers aged 8-12

Provide clear practice guidelines for coaches of footballers aged 8-12

⚽ 3

Deliver a high quality and enjoyable football experience

Key Details

  • 10 weeks commencing Thursday 23rd April to Thurs 25th June
  • 5pm – 6pm at Te Puru
  • Cost is $100 per term

There are only 15 spaces available in term 2 so the programme and will be on a first-come first-in basis.

What to wear

Football boots / shin pads / training kit – same as you would to team training

This training is IN ADDITION to any team trainings your daughter may have scheduled

Programme Curriculum

The BMAFC Girls’ Skills Programme curriculum is designed using the following principles to ensure the appropriate training environment for holistic player development:

  1. Training that looks like the game 
  2. Lots of time on the ball 
  3. An enjoyable learning environment 
  4. Players are fully engaged in training 
  5. Effective Feedback for players

Each training session will focus on one of the following core skills:

  • Striking the ball
  • Receiving the ball
  • 1v1 
  • Travelling with the ball
  • Pressing 
  • Marking
  • Intercepting

Wet Weather Process

Any session postponements due to bad weather will be communicated via email so please check your email before leaving for the session. Postponed sessions will be caught up at the end of a term or at the beginning of the next term.

Our BMAFC Girls’ Skills Programme is open to female BMAFC members & non-members. To register follow the below instructions:
